The Science Council Science Policy Portal aims to draw together position papers and other information on important contemporary science policy issues, especially where there is a significant level of consensus across international or national science communities.  The public often has low awareness of the national and international organisations that review policy issues in this way and it can be difficult to find this information through Internet search engines because of different uses of language or the obscurity of organisational names and acronyms.  

The subjects covered in this policy portal reflect both the breadth of interest of the Science Council and the multi-disciplinarity of science in today’s world.  The links are sourced through our Member Bodies, partner organisations and national and international academies.  We have included further information on the issues that we consider is accessible to the general public and we welcome contact from those who have produced similar statements and information that we can add to the portal.
