Current CEO, Professor Paul Hardaker has been appointed as the new Chief Executive at the Institute of Physics from September 2012
Together with its subsidiary charity theWeather Club, the Society has over 5,000 members from across academia, the practitioner community and enthusiastic amateur meteorologists, and works with a wide-ranging group of partners and stakeholders.
The role of the Chief Executive is to work with the Society’s governing Council to give vision, direction and leadership to its programmes of work. The Chief Executive works closely with Council and the Senior Officers, in particular, in between Council meetings in delivering the Society’s Strategic Plan and in-year targets, and importantly provides leadership to the Society’s executive team. The Chief Executive also plays an important role alongside of the President and Senior Officers in engaging with the Society’s wide group of stakeholders and in helping to establish and grow strong working partnerships.
