The Hidden Science Map is a sister site for the Science Council's Future Morph site

The Hidden Science Map is a new careers resource for children.

It is a Google Map of the UK (and the rest of the world) pinned with science people, organisations, and large team photos pinned with profile pins we are calling 'place-portraits'

The project arises from the BIS Science for Careers Expert Group action plan published in March last year.  The report identified that many people had a narrow view of the sorts of careers which use science and maths, hence the emphasis on 'hidden' science, meaning those science jobs, including engineering, and technology, that young people would not automatically include in their vision of a science career.

Putting a pin on the map involves filling out a questionnaire to create a profile which is revealed when your pin is clicked on and if you wish taking a place portrait.

The Hidden Science Map was launched in March 2011.
